• Ever elusive were the Kirin of Shae'lom Valley, said to be rarer than even the unicorns. With horns said to have magical qualities and scales that granted boons of strength and intelligence these naturally rare creatures were hunted to near extinction. When the inhabitants of the Valley grew desperate enough they burned the forest of Shae'lom to the ground to flesh out the last of the Kirin.
  
  The few that remained were either slaughtered for their parts, or sold away to distant lands if they proved to be more valuable that way. Among the last remaining Kirin was a sickly little shape-shifter by the name of Zar'dryn Silverwing. The hunters refused to cut his horns or wings for he had already been touched by death, thus the magical qualities had been comprimised and were deemed unsafe.
  
  And so, skinny and malnourished, Zar'dryn was sold away into Furcadia where he awaits what new wonders of horrors life will bring him. Ever faithful to his people and his born duties, he will accept whatever falls upon his shoulders.
